UHSAA shifting site of football championship games with Rice-Eccles Stadium unavailable https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has affected sports on every level in Utah, and it high school football programs have been significantly impacted this fall. Now as the regular season draws near, teams across the state will have to settle for holding championship games at a different venue.

The final round of the high school football state tournament in 2020 will be held at Dixie State University for the 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A classifications. The site of the 6A tournament is yet to be determined.

Championship games have been held at the University of Utah’s Rice-Eccles Stadium for many years. But with the coronavirus pandemic, fans are not allowed at Rice-Eccles, necessitating the location change.

The 2A and 3A championship games are scheduled for Nov. 14, while 4A and 5A will play their title games on Nov. 21.
