Wildfire in Pleasant Grove forces evacuations https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Some residents living near a wildfire that sparked Saturday night in Pleasant Grove have been told to evacuate, according to fire officials.

The fire sparked around 9 p.m. near the “G" on the mountain between Grove Creek Canyon and Battle Creek Canyon. Officials said residents living between 200 South and Grove Creek Drive and east of 1350 East should evacuate.

Those in Battle Creek Canyon have also been told to leave.

Just after 9:30 p.m., the fire department estimated the fire had already burned 50 acres and said it was still growing.

State fire officials are calling this blaze the Battle Creek 2 Fire. Another blaze — the Battle Creek Fire — burned 50 acres in that same area in August, FOX13 reported.

This story is developing and will be updated.
