A 69-year-old man died after the boat he was in capsized on Strawberry Reservoir.
The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. saying a boat had capsized somewhere near the Narrows portion of the lake, according to a statement posted on Facebook.
The caller said all five individuals that had been in the boat were able to swim to shore, but a 69-year-old man had stopped breathing and CPR was being administered.
Wasatch County EMS, search and rescue, and law enforcement, as well as State Park and Life Flight personnel responded to the scene, the statement said. Family members, owners and employees of the Phillips Strawberry Bay Marina assisted.
The name of the man who died is not being released until all family members have been notified.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and those affected by this tragedy,” the statement said. “We appreciate all of our first responders and those who helped in this situation.”
