Cottonwood High girls’ soccer team must quarantine after player tests positive for COVID-19 https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

A girls’ soccer team lost at least two upcoming games on its schedule after a player tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the entire squad to quarantine, per the Granite School District.

The Cottonwood High player participated in Wednesday’s game against Murray High. The team will be quarantined through at least Aug. 23.

That means the Colts will not be able to play the game against East on Tuesday or against Hillcrest on Thursday. Practices have also been canceled.

Parents of Cottonwood players on Friday received an email from the Salt Lake County Health Department alerting them of the news. The health department said it will offer free coronavirus testing on Wednesday at one of the school’s parking lots and encouraged their children to get tested.

Those who test negative will be released from quarantine Aug. 24, the health department said.

Murray’s team has started the contact tracing process, per the school district.
