Searchers recovered a man’s body in Bear Lake on Sunday afternoon after he may have drowned Saturday, according to FOX 13.
On Saturday evening, the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible drowning after kayakers saw a man — later identified as 27-year-old Martin T. Garcia of Logan — fall off an inflatable tube and go into the water near the lake’s North Beach. The kayakers attempted to help Garcia but were unsuccessful.
Search and rescue crews began looking for the man’s body that night, but the search was called off due to bad weather. After the search resumed Sunday, Garcia’s body was detected by sonar and recovered around that afternoon.
